Commissioning tests for a new server room

Prove power, cooling, monitoring and failover work under realistic conditions before production systems move in.
Commissioning shows that the room performs as designed before systems depend on it.
1. Power
Test UPS transfer to battery, generator start and transfer, and return to mains, under load.
2. Cooling
Verify capacity with load banks, and test failure of one cooling unit if redundancy is designed.
3. Monitoring
Trigger each sensor and confirm alerts reach the right people.
4. Security and fire
Test access control, CCTV and fire detection interfaces.
5. Network
Test links, redundancy and failover.
6. Document
Record results and hand over as-built documentation.
